SavvyProof Privacy Policy
SavvyProof is a Chrome extension that checks web pages for spelling, grammar, link and metadata problems before they go live. This policy explains exactly what data the extension handles, how it is stored, and who it is shared with.

In short: SavvyProof analyses pages entirely inside your own browser. Savvy Signature operates no server for this extension and receives no data from it at any point. The only data that ever leaves your device is described in section 4, and only if you choose to enable the optional AI features.
Information We Collect
All of the following is processed on your own device, in your browser, only when you actively start a scan.

What we do not collect
SavvyProof does not collect, request or transmit any of the following:
- Personally identifiable information
- Health information
- Financial or payment information
- Passwords or authentication data
- Personal communications
- Location data
- Web browsing history
- Analytics, telemetry or crash reports
Incidental personal data: a page you scan may itself contain personal information, such as a staff biography or a testimonial with someone's name. The extension reads this only as page text in order to check it. It is never sent to Savvy Signature. If you enable the optional AI features, such text may be included in what is sent to Google.
How Your Data Is Stored
Everything is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's extension storage. Nothing is stored on any Savvy Signature system, because no such system exists for this extension.

Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, licence or trade data to anyone. Data leaves your device only in the two cases below.
Savvy Signature
We receive nothing at all.
No data is transmitted to Savvy Signature at any point. We cannot see which pages you scan, what the extension finds, or whether you use it. There is no account, no login and no server.
Zero data receivedGoogle — Gemini API (optional, off by default)
The AI features are disabled unless you supply your own Google Gemini API key. Every built-in check works without one.
What is sent: extracted blocks of visible text from the page being scanned, plus the page URL, sent to generativelanguage.googleapis.com. For the "How do I fix this?" feature, the specific finding and its surrounding sentence are also sent.
Who receives it: Google, under your own API key and therefore your own agreement with Google. Savvy Signature is not a party to that transmission and receives no copy of it.
Why: to return grammar corrections, AI-written-text detection, tone review, SEO suggestions and fix guidance.
Governed by: Google's Privacy Policy and the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service. To stop all such transmission, clear your API key in Settings.
Requires your own keyWebsites you scan
To report broken links, the extension makes ordinary web requests to pages on the same site you are scanning.
These are standard HTTP requests containing no personal data. External third-party links are deliberately not requested. The extension also reads that site's robots.txt and sitemap.xml.
No other sharing. No data is used for advertising, for building user profiles, or for training machine-learning models, and none is transferred to any party other than those described above.
